Simon Says – Musings of a Technology CTO

Simon Hunt, market leader, speaker and author in anti-malware, data security, and endpoint encryption.

As a founder and CTO, Simon took SafeBoot corp, a data encryption company to acquisition by McAfee in 2007 for $350,000,000. Since then Simon has held senior leadership roles in both McAfee and Intel, where was CTO Innovation, CTO Endpoint Security, CTO Data Protection, and CTO Home Gateway Security, and now as Executive Vice President, Cyber Security Innovation for Mastercard.

Currently, Simon is responsible for fraud analytics, standards, and both physical and logical cybersecurity, with Mastercard’s DigiSec Lab and RiskRecon teams within his group.

At McAfee, Simon was responsible for the enterprise endpoint technology where he spent 7 years promoting simplicity, efficiency, and effectiveness of enterprise anti-malware and encryption products, then with Intel where he both founded and lead their smart-home security strategy, resulting in products launched at CES2017.

Simon’s exceptional track record of technical improvement is based on his belief in quality and expandability. He is known for his ability to quickly identify customer requirements and translate them into realizable product features which go far beyond “quick fixes.” Simon is known for his ability to pre-empt future changes by building in enhancement capability from the beginning.

Simon has a track record of “last 80%” product delivery – taking great technology and turning it into scalable, global, and most importantly marketable product. He has a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology/Oceanography from UCNW Bangor.

Simon currently lives with his wife Elle in Naples, Florida.
